These are the club tournament rules as published by Bon Secour Butchers. All rules are subject to change. Always follow current Alabama Marine Resources size and creel limits.
Payouts
- For a 1st Place Species
- For a 2nd Place Species
- For a 3rd Place Species
Specific dollar amounts are announced per event.
Points – 3-event series / trail
Totaled after the November event:
- 3 points for a 1st place species
- 2 points for a 2nd place species
- 1 point for a 3rd place species
Points – toward Yearly Angler of the Year
- 3 points for a 1st place species
- 2 points for a 2nd place species
- 1 point for a 3rd place species

Target species
- “Slot” Speckled Trout
- “Slot” Redfish
- Sheepshead
Some rodeos add flounder, pompano, or white trout. Check the event flyer.
Where and how
- Fishing is allowed from land or boat.
- Fishing is allowed in any and all PUBLIC waters where the target species can be caught.
- All fish must be caught on hook and line (rod & reel, fly rod, cane pole, or hand line). No cast nets, gigging, spears, bows, explosives, or trot lines.
- All fish must comply with the State of Alabama’s size and creel limits.
Slots & measurements
- Redfish: Alabama slot 16"–26" pinched tail. Under 16" or over 26" is DQ.
- Speckled trout: Alabama slot 15"–22" pinched tail. Under 15" or over 22" is DQ.
- Sheepshead: Alabama minimum 12" fork length.
Registration and weigh-in times are announced per tournament. Ties TBD. Confirm dates on Facebook or at weigh-in.
